Scene: Takiko is pulled into the Universe of the Four Gods. She finds herself atop a snow-covered mountain in a strange land, surrounded by Nasutta (monsters). I loved the second page because it instantly set her apart from Miaka of the original Fushigi Yuugi series. Takiko is fearless, stubborn, and unwilling to surrender. The strength is unchracteristic of Watase's main female protagonists.

Scene: One of the core staples. Rimudo wakes in his male form. Takiko freaks. Happy day.

Scene: Waaah! Yuu Watase always does this! She makes the second male lead an unrequited love interest. Aya and Yuhi (from Ayashi no Ceres) anyone? Liked them waaaay more than Aya and Toya. Tomite has captured Takiko in an effort to lure Rimudo. Takiko puts up a fight and the two struggle.

Scene: Yes, I'm partial to Tomite x Takiko moments. A little non-canon now and then is good for the soul I say! Tomite rests after saving a little girl from a burning building. Takiko stays by his side and falls asleep. Our favorite lech does the first thing that comes to mind ;P.

Scene: Rimudo saves Takiko from Shigi and Hien. They argue. He gets all riled. I included the first page JUST for Rimudo's expression in the center panel.

Scene: Searching for the other Genbu seishi, Tomite and Takiko find a run-down temple inhabited by a woman named Fen. Rimudo catches up to them and he and Takiko exchange familiar Miaka x Tamahome-esque looks.

Scene: I REALLY like Takiko. She's angst-filled without being whiny. Fighting Fen's control over the seishi warrior Hatsui, Takiko convinces the boy to come out of his basket and believe in himself.
